Launched in 2003 from a small, rural North Carolina town, it is our continuing mission to bring you only the highest quality collectibles, decorative home accents, and fine art sculptures. www.shadetreeinternational.com was actually inspired by eBay. After an unexpected lay-off from an eighteen year commercial construction career, Shade Tree International owner Johnny Birch found himself at a crossroads of sorts. With the local commercial construction market saturated, and the rising cost of gasoline, the decision was made to venture into unknown territory...the Internet. Starting with little more than a closet full of unwanted household items, a shaky online auction hobby evolved into a thriving, profitable online business.
